I have always been passionate about food, recipes, décor and magazines. Although I only really started to cook in 1992, when Hein and I got married, my mom and dad’s families are great cooks. So I grew up with shark biltong (dad’s family) and baked sweet potato in an Aga (mom’s family.)

Although I would have loved to be part of a magazine, I lack the formal training & experience. So Hein and I got thinking….

And on 18 March 2006, the XCentric Ideas – email newsletter was born. It was also on that day, 5 years before – 18 March 2001 that we lost our only child, 7-month old Ben. By creating XCentric Ideas, I was picking up life’s threads and cultivating my God-given creativity.

My friends and family don’t buy all the magazines. Most of them work, or have families – so, no time to surf the Net.

XCentric Ideas compiles ideas, recipes & photos from the Internet, magazines & recipe books. It’s an absolute labour of love & passion – with no financial gain.

I want to inspire people. I want to share my creativity and my passions.

Life is amazing – Life is about choices – You can sit in a corner and be depressed – or you can stand on your toes and shout to the sky:

‘ I’m alive! Let me be all I can be!! ’
